Powder & Ombré Brows in Valencia, CA
If you love the look of softly filled-in brows — the kind you’d normally create with a pencil or powder each morning — powder brows give you exactly that, healed right into the skin. They’re soft, polished, and a little more defined than hairstrokes, with a gradient that fades from lighter at the front to deeper at the tail. That gradient is the “ombré” part.
I’m Jeanny Evans, and powder brows are one of my most-loved techniques — partly because they suit so many people, and partly because they hold up beautifully, even on the oily skin types that other methods struggle with.

What are powder and ombré brows?
Powder brows are created by depositing thousands of tiny dots of pigment into the skin — a technique called stippling — which build up into a soft, shaded finish rather than individual hair strokes. The effect looks like brow powder or a soft pencil: filled-in, defined, and even.
Ombré brows are the same technique with a specific gradient: deliberately lighter and softer at the front of the brow, deepening toward the tail. It’s the look most people picture when they imagine a polished, “makeup-done” brow that still looks soft rather than harsh. Powder and ombré are really two words for the same family of shaded brows — I’ll tailor the intensity and gradient to what suits your face.
Why powder brows are great for oily skin
Here’s something worth knowing if you’ve been told you’re “not a candidate” for brow tattooing. Fine hairstroke techniques — including microblading — often blur and fade quickly on oily skin, because oil breaks down crisp lines over time. Powder brows don’t have that problem. Because they’re built from soft shading rather than sharp lines, they heal cleanly and hold their look far longer on oily and combination skin.
So if hairstrokes haven’t worked for you before, or you know your skin runs oily, powder or ombré brows are very likely your best-lasting option.
Powder brows might be for you if
You like a defined, filled-in brow rather than a barely-there natural one; you have oily or combination skin; you currently use brow powder or pencil and want to skip that step; or you want something that lasts as long as possible. If you’d prefer the most natural, hair-by-hair look instead, nano might suit you better — and if you want a bit of both, that’s what combo brows are for.
Compare with nano hairstroke brows or combo brows.
What to expect — sessions and healing
Like all my brow work, powder brows are done in two visits: the first to build the shape and shading, and a perfecting session a few weeks later once healed. Right after your first session the color looks bold — noticeably darker than the final result — and it softens significantly as it heals. This is completely normal, and it’s why the perfecting session matters: we judge and refine once the true, softened color has settled at around four to six weeks.

Correction Questions Answered
What are powder brows?
Powder brows are a permanent makeup technique that builds soft, shaded brows from thousands of tiny pigment dots, creating a filled-in, powder-like finish rather than individual hair strokes. The result looks like softly applied brow powder or pencil, healed into the skin — defined but still soft.
What's the difference between powder brows and ombré brows?
They’re essentially the same shading technique — the difference is the gradient. Ombré brows are deliberately lighter at the front and deeper toward the tail, for a soft-to-defined fade. “Powder brows” is the broader term for the shaded style overall. I tailor the gradient and intensity to suit your face either way.
How long do powder brows last?
Powder brows are among the longest-lasting brow techniques — typically 2 to 3 years, depending on your skin and lifestyle. They tend to outlast fine hairstroke methods, especially on oily skin. A refresh every couple of years keeps the color soft and even.
Are powder brows good for oily skin?
Yes — they’re often the best choice for oily skin. Because powder brows are built from soft shading rather than crisp lines, they don’t blur the way fine hairstrokes (and microblading) can on oily skin. They heal cleanly and hold their look much longer, which is why I often recommend them for oily and combination skin types.
Do powder brows look natural?
They look like softly filled-in brows — polished and defined rather than hair-by-hair natural. If you like the look of light brow makeup, powder brows will feel very natural to you. If you want the most undetectable, hair-like result, nano brows may suit you better. At your consultation we’ll match the technique to the look you want.
