When brow tattoos are the wrong shape — uneven side to side, too thick, set at an odd angle, or drawn too high — it throws off your whole face, and no amount of color fixing helps if the shape itself is off. Shape correction is about rebalancing the actual outline, not just the tone.

Why brow shape is really about proportion
Great brows aren’t about a trend — they’re about proportion to your specific face. There’s a reason artists “map” brows before any work: measuring where the brow should start, where it should arch, and where it should end based on your features. When brows are mapped poorly the first time, the result can be too close together, arched in the wrong place, or simply mismatched.
Correcting shape starts with re-mapping your face from scratch, ignoring the existing lines, to find where the brows should actually sit. Only then can we plan how to get from the current shape to the right one.
The honest limits of reshaping a tattoo
Here’s the truth other studios sometimes skip: you can always add to a brow, but you can’t simply erase tattooed pigment by drawing around it. If your existing brows are too thick or set too low, the excess pigment usually needs to be lightened with saline removal before a slimmer, better-placed shape can be built. If they’re too thin or patchy, that’s more straightforward — we add and rebalance.
So shape correction often works hand-in-hand with saline removal — remove what’s in the wrong place, then rebuild what belongs. I’ll always tell you which category yours falls into.
What to expect
After re-mapping, a straightforward rebalance (adding to sparse areas, refining an arch) may take one or two sessions. Cases needing removal first take longer, since lightening is gradual. Perfect symmetry isn’t always fully achievable — real faces aren’t perfectly symmetrical either — but dramatic improvement usually is, and I’ll set an honest expectation up front.

Usually, yes — often significantly. Correction starts by re-mapping your face to find where the brows should sit, then rebalancing. If one brow simply needs building up to match the other, that’s straightforward. If the issue is excess pigment in the wrong place, some lightening with saline removal may come first. Can you make eyebrow tattoos thinner?
You can’t erase tattoo pigment just by drawing a thinner shape around it, so making brows genuinely thinner usually means lightening the excess with saline removal first, then rebuilding a slimmer shape. If the brows only look heavy because of color, sometimes toning helps — an assessment clarifies the right path.
Will my corrected brows be perfectly symmetrical?
The goal is balanced, natural-looking brows that suit your face — not robotic symmetry, since real faces aren’t perfectly symmetrical. Correction usually achieves a dramatic improvement in balance and placement. I’ll set an honest expectation for your specific brows before we begin.
How is shape correction different from color correction?
Color correction fixes the wrong tone (gray, orange, blue); shape correction fixes the wrong outline (uneven, too thick, wrong arch). Some brows need one, some need both. They’re assessed together so you get a single realistic plan rather than a surprise second issue later.
