Classic eyeliner is a clean, defined line along your upper lash line that follows your natural eye shape and ends where your lashes end. It’s the everyday liner — polished, versatile, and appropriate anywhere. Thickness is entirely up to you, from a fine line to something more present.
Designer eyeliner takes that line and adds a custom tail or wing, extending and lifting the outer corner. This is where it stops being a line and becomes a design — shaped deliberately to flatter your particular eye. A wing that suits a hooded eye is not the same wing that suits an almond eye, which is exactly why it’s mapped to you rather than applied from a template.
Why the shape matters more than the line
The hardest part of this work isn’t drawing a straight line. It’s deciding where the line should go.
Eye shape, lid space, how your eyes sit, whether one is slightly lower than the other — all of it changes where a line should thicken, where a wing should lift, and where it should stop. What to expect
Your appointment starts with mapping and a mirror check, so you approve the shape before anything is permanent. Numbing is used throughout, and most people find it far more comfortable than expected. Expect mild swelling for a day or two and a line that looks bolder at first, softening as it heals. It’s completed over two visits — the initial session and a perfecting session once healed.
