Most clients describe it as mild discomfort — more pressure or light scratching than anything sharp. A topical numbing cream is applied before and during to keep you comfortable. Brows and eyeliner are usually very tolerable; lips can feel slightly more sensitive, but the numbing keeps it manageable.
How long does permanent makeup last?
Permanent makeup typically lasts 1 to 3 years, depending on the service, your skin type, and lifestyle. Powder brows and lip blush tend to last longest; nano hairstrokes and eyeliner vary by skin type. Because pigment fades gradually, most clients return for a refresh (touch-up) every 12–18 months to keep results looking fresh.
What does the healing process look like?
Healing takes about 7–10 days on the surface and up to 4–6 weeks for the color to fully settle. Expect the color to look darker and bolder at first, then soften noticeably as it heals — this is completely normal. You’ll receive detailed aftercare instructions, and the result you see at 4–6 weeks is the true, healed color.

How do I choose between microblading and other brow techniques?
